1966 Volvo 122 Wagon
This is the Volvo Dream Machine. The project started with an original paint, Arizona barn find, purchased in California, complete with original title.
Mechanicals; original B18 engine bored to B20 specs, all new bearings, camshaft, lifters, timing gears, valves, pistons.
All non-painted parts nickel plated including exhaust and intake manifolds and all nuts and bolts including head bolts. Carbs reconditioned mechanically and cosmetically. All hydraulic hoses replaced with new. All new brake and clutch cylinders. Because of their propensity to seizing up even after rebuilding the rear brake cylinders were brass lined and unique stainless steel pistons were installed. Transmission replaced with M410 (overdrive). Driveshaft reconditioned; brake servo replaced with new updated design; re-cored radiator, new old-stock hose clamps. All suspension parts disassembled, repainted, reassembled with all new bushings.
All new front end parts; ball joints, tie rod ends, steering rods, and perfect front end alignment (rare). Complete stainless steel exhaust system including stainless steel clamps. AGM battery. All new cooling system and fuel system hoses. Reconditioned (epoxy coated inside and out) gas tank. Wheels sandblasted, trued, and painted original color and fitted with Michelin XZX (expensive but the best tires). Reconditioned original AM/FM radio. Flush radio antenna.
Cosmetics; body was repaired as necessary, so little rust was found that original front fenders were retained. The body was sprayed with original dark grey paint. The seats were redone and reupholstered with the identical-to-factory VP seat covers on “high back” vintage 1968 seats. Headliner, door panels, floor mats, carpeting, and all other interior parts were replaced with new. Stainless steel side trim, light bezels, insignia, hood trim, and glass trim were all replaced with new. Windshield, and all glass gaskets are new. ALL chrome parts including bumpers, seatbelt hardware, exterior door latches, were all rechromed plated. No expense was spared on this museum quality, nut-and-bolt, 6-figure restoration. It has been driven only 50 miles since completion. Mileage at time of restoration was 120,773.
Asking $38,963
